On June 15-16, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences held a seminar on the possible outcomes of the 2024 U.S. Elections. The event began with a welcoming address by FLAS Dean Marina Kalashnikova, followed by speeches from Draganа Ćetković, Director of the Higher Education Department at the Ministry of Education of Montenegro; Judy Rising Reinke, U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro; and Dr. Alexandra Vacroux, Executive Director of the Harvard University's Davis Center.

The first day was dedicated to analyzing perspectives on the U.S. elections and various aspects of the American electoral system. Dr. Daniel Epstein and Dr. Ryan Enos from Harvard University discussed the structure of the U.S. electoral system, the role of polls, and the evolution of political ideologies.

On the second day, participants focused on the Eurasian perspectives. Alexandra Vacroux presented an analysis of the implications of the U.S. elections for the security of Ukraine and Europe. Experts from the Davis Center's Scholars Without Borders project conducted a roundtable discussion on the impact of the elections on the foreign policy of the post-Soviet region.

The seminar concluded with another roundtable discussion dedicated to societal perspectives on the 2024 U.S. elections within the Western Balkans. Participants included Dr. Srdjan Darmanović, Professor at the University of Montenegro and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro; Vesko Garcevic, Professor at Boston University and former Ambassador of Montenegro to Brussels (NATO) and Vienna (OSCE); and Dr. Mladen Grgić, Advisor to the President of Montenegro for the economy and economic diplomacy.

The discussion was moderated by FLAS co-founder and political scientist Ljubomir Filipovic.

We thank the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, Harvard University, and all the speakers and participants of the seminar. This event allowed our Faculty to expand academic and professional connections and fostered international dialogue and knowledge exchange, which are crucial for understanding contemporary political processes.
